Fresh off of the holiday season, Scott and JD both watched the Assassin's Creed movie this week. It has not been received well by critics and fans, and is performing poorly at the box office. But while plenty of people are slamming the movie for being boring and uncreative, it actually is a fairly good sci-fi film that is simply suffering from the wrath of a butt-hurt fanbase. We explain why.
We also talk about some settings that we'd like to see future Assassin's Creed games take place in, each of which is drastically different from anything we've seen in any of the games so far.
If you've got any questions, comments, or suggestions on what we should talk about next week, be sure to comment below, or send us a message on Facebook or Twitter!

It's the final episode of The Gentleman's Pantry for 2016! Or, depending on where you live, it could also be the first episode of 2017. But either way, the topics won't change! We discuss Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, and what the franchise needs to do to regain their lustre. We also talk about some of the biggest and strangest gaming news items of 2016, including over-sexualization in Overwatch and Hideo Kojima being locked in a room for six months.

First and foremost, SPOILERS AHEAD FOR STAR WARS ROGUE ONE!
Now that that's taken care of, welcome to a giant Star Wars MegaCast from The Gentleman's Pantry. Rogue One hit theatres this week, and we share our thoughts on the first ever Star Wars spinoff film. We also talk about some memories of our favourite Star Wars video games, what Star Wars Battlefront 2 needs to have, and what we hope to see from Star Wars Episode VIII.
Sincere gratitude goes out this week to Mariachi Entertainment System, 24Violins, and David Peña for hooking us up with some gorgeous Star Wars tunes to use in this week's episode. Check the show notes for links to their music and YouTube channels.

After nine long years of development, Japan Studio finally released The Last Guardian this week. It was been the recipient of mixed reviews, ranging from perfect tens to shameful zeroes. But what do Scott and longtime Team Ico fan, Austin, think of the game? This week’s episode of The Gentleman’s Pantry features an extended discussion of the game’s mechanics, its shortcomings, what it does best, and why reviewer Austin Flynn is hesitant to even give it a score.
Scott also waxes nostalgic with a chat about his favourite childhood T.V. show, Oakie Doke, and we take turns describing our romantic lives with video game titles.

This week's episode of The Gentleman's Pantry is a special one. Not only is there a guest to talk about Final Fantasy, but this episode was recorded in an actual pantry.
This episode is mainly focused on Final Fantasy, with the release of FFXV just around the corner. We also talk about the Christmas gifts that we never received and, oddly, Just Cause 3.

Welcome back to the Gentleman's Pantry. This week begins with an offbeat discussion regarding historical figures that we would choose to spend an evening of passion with. Be warned, however, for things do not stay PG-rated for long.
We then move on to the anchor of this episode. Did Ubisoft ruin The Ezio Trilogy? The triple remaster has just been released, and its upgrades may not be all that great.
We also discuss some political statements from Read Dead Redemption 2, and the new Beauty and the Beast live-action trailer.

Welcome to the premiere episode of The Gentleman's Pantry.
This week, the video games topics being discussed are Dishonored 2, the Steep closed beta and hands-on experience at Gamescom, and the post-game grind in World of Final Fantasy.
The main discussion for this week is the newest film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Dr. Strange. Many have praised it, but it isn't free of criticism. So is it as fantastic as many people say? Or will it be forgotten as soon as the next MCU film hits cinemas?
Other bonuses from this week's episode include:
- Some fun facts about Venice
- A list of games that JD may or may not have played
- A few thoughts on American politics
