Episode 20 - Final Fantasy Sounds Like Everything

00:0000:00

Have you ever heard a song and thought, "hey, this song sounds just like another song that I know"? Well, that's happened a lot during Dallin's Final Fantasy playing career. And so he and Scott take a look at some of the most prominent examples of songs that sound just like other songs from Final Fantasy games.

Also in this week's podcast: The new Star Wars Episode VIII and Thor: Ragnarok trailers, a weird Dragon Quest XI bundle, the discontinued NES classic, Call of Duty: WWII, and Scott's early review and thoughts on Persona 5.

Music that appears in this episode is composed by Nobuo Uematsu, Yoko Shimomura, Claude Debussy, Bernard Herrmann, Perry Botkin, Michael Price, Koji Kondo, and Jeremy Soule.

Episode 19 - Yooka-Laylee is Pretty Trash, Snake Pass is Not

00:0000:00

Hola and bienvenidos to the Gentleman's Pantry! This week's lively discussions include the recently announced We Happy Few movie, Alicia Vikander as Lara Croft, and Reggie Fils-Aime saying that Nintendo's E3 2017 presentation will be off the hook (that's doubtful).

We also talk some more about Zelda: Breath of the Wild as Scott works his way through it, Final Fantasy XV: Episode Gladiolus, Sumo Digital's Snake Pass, and Scott gives his thoughts on Yooka-Laylee.

Episode 18 - What Gaming World Would You Live In?

00:0000:00

Scott botched the opening this week.

But after that, it's the news! Beauty and the Beast, Sonic Mania, and the Capcom Disney Saturday Afternoon Collection are making headlines for us this week.

After the news, it's time to continue our discussion on the Switch and Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild before having a chat about which gaming world we would like to live in if we could. Turns out they're all too dangerous, and this world isp probably the best option.

Episode 17 - What Dead Gaming Franchises Should Be Revived?

00:0000:00

After a flurry of releases last week that saw Horizon Zero Dawn, Breath of the Wild, and the Nintendo Switch console all hit store shelves. things have returned back to an acceptable level of sanity this week.

Some more thoughts and experiences in regards to Breath of the Wild are shared this week, and we discuss which gaming franchises we'd like to see revived after a long period of being dormant. With Crash Bandicoot, Parappa the Rapper, Patapon, and more making comebacks this year, perhaps the time is right for another franchise.

Episode 16 - Which is Better: Horizon Zero Dawn or Breath of the Wild?

00:0000:00

It's showdown time! Two major, highly anticipated open world games were released last week and both have received extremely favourable reviews. But only one can be crowned king! So will it be Horizon Zero Dawn or The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild? Also, all of our predictions about the Nintendo Switch are true. Listen to find out why.

MiniCast - Let’s Talk about Logan

00:0000:00

Logan, probably the best movie of all time (not really, though), hit the big screen over the weekend, and it was incredible.

In this minicast episode, we review Logan in all its glory, and compare it to prior X-Men and Wolverine movies, as well as Batman v. Superman just to show how much that movie sucked.

Episode 15 - The Oscars 2017: What a Waste of a Lovely Night

00:0000:00

The Oscars happened over the weekend, and what a mess they were. But before we get to that, we have a chat about The Last of Us, which Dallin finally played and enjoyed thoroughly.

A reveal trailer for Middle-earth: Shadow of War launched this week, and we give a few brief thoughts on that before diving into our Oscars debrief. Were the right awards given? What happened with that disastrous finale? Listen to find out!

This week, we also continue the Mel Gibson Movie Book Club, and talk about The Bounty, a 1984 film starring Mel, Anthony Hopkins, and a host of other great actors.

Episode 14 - What Do We Want from the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy?

00:0000:00

There hasn't been a lot of gaming news recently, except that we still hate the Nintendo Switch. So this week on The Gentleman's Pantry, we discuss the worst kinds of video game levels and designs, the new Pokemon GO update that brought in 80+ second-generation Pokemon, our hopes for the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, as well as our thoughts on the new Lego Batman Movie.

00:0000:00

The third PS4 exclusive in as many months, Nioh, was released last week and Scott has been enjoying his time playing through the game. It has received incredibly high scores from most reviewers and has a lot in common with the Dark Souls series, so we examine which of the two games is better.

We also debut the Mel Gibson Book Movie Club, to help Mel with his comeback. In this section, we watch a Mel Gibson movie and share our thoughts on it. This week, The Patriot is up for discussion.

Finally, we also talk about how La La Land is going to win all the Oscars, and share our obligatory hate thoughts about the Nintendo Switch.
